Wrestling with muddy livestock in the rain, a wiggly baby who needs a diaper change, and an overflowing inbox of client requests…all within an hour’s time, may seem like a quandary to most, but in my family, it is just everyday life. Juggling creative pursuits, all the while holding down the fort and trying to be a supportive wife to a hardworking, cowboy-firefighter-barn-raising-camo-clad-family man can make life a little bit interesting at times. Even though it is a lot of work, I can’t imagine it any other way.
My name is Joelle and I have spent most of my life honing in on my creative calling in life. My passion for photography and entrepreneurship has been ingrained in my soul since before I can remember. Early high school is when I purchased my first Canon and couldn’t seem to take enough photos to satisfy the creative drive within me. I then studied Interior Design at the same university my big sister attended and obtained my Bachelor’s degree. However, I was still craving more.
Throughout the past ten years, I successfully transformed my basic, textbook design knowledge into an entire arsenal of visual communications skills entirely on my own (and with some help from some on-the-job experience). It has been a sculpting experience with both lumps and smoothing processes, but has allowed me to photograph amazing things such as the Indianapolis Dream Home, the Matterhorn, and even the beaches of Riviera Maya. I’ve gotten to help design websites for small companies, rub shoulders with executives of large companies, and even coach some close friends with their own creative pursuits. I love seeing ideas come to life and hope that my efforts help make the (digital and print) world a little bit more beautiful.
